THE GATEKEEPERS OF POWER
Boyesen's patented dual-stage design incorporates a specially shaped
top reed and a ported bottom reed. The top reed is lightweight and
resilient for crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low
RPMs. The stiffer, bottom reed is ported to provide maximum flow and
horsepower at higher RPMs. More valves equals more power by
creating:
More Air Flow - The dual-stage design allows you to replace
your stock reed stop with a Rev-Plate which permits the reeds to
open freely and function efficiently.
More Air Velocity - The multi-port feature of the bottom reed
creates more channels for the charge, delivering increased velocity
to the intake ports.
More Overall Power - Dual-stage reeds work in unison to
perform efficiently throughout the entire powerband. The difference
in stiffness between the top reed and the bottom reed allow the
reeds to respond quickly and accurately to changes in engine
pressure. This translates into quicker acceleration, crisper
throttle response and increased horsepower throughout the powerband.
> Secondary Reed
(Top Reed)
The top reed is specially shaped, lightweight and resilient for
crisp throttle response at partial throttle or low RPMs. > Primary Reed
(Bottom Reed)
The bottom reed is thicker, stiffer and ported to provide
stability, maximum flow and horsepower at high RPMs. > Rev-Plate
Allows the reed to open unimpeded and function more efficiently
at higher RPMs.
THE BENEFITS
• Quicker acceleration for that all-important holeshot.
• Crisper throttle response for fast corner exits and surer jumps.
• More horsepower throughout the powerband for guaranteed performance.
• Improved engine efficiency and fuel economy for the long distance
rider.
• Longer life - Boyesen Power Reeds outlast all other aftermarket
reeds.
QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
Since 1972, Boyesen has maintained its position as the leader inreed
induction technology by introducing dozens of breakthroughs and
refinements in reed performance. The latest advances in material
technology are incorporated into every reed design, allowing us to
manufacture reeds that not only increase power, but are durable and
dependable too.
MATERIALS From beginning to end, Boyesen supervises every
aspect of the manufacturing process for our reed materials. The
threadcount of the fiberglass or carbon fiber, the positioning of the
plies, and the type of epoxies used to fabricate the reed materials
are specified by Boyesen to insure reed materials of uncompromising
quality. Multiple plies are then laminated in variety of
configurations to obtain reed materials of varying functionality. More
than fifty individual types of reed material are fabricated for a
variety of applications.
All reed materials undergo a rigorous three-step quality control
inspection. Each sheet of material is examined and tested for
manufacturing flaws. The material is then cut into individual strips
which are measured with a digital micrometer to insure proper
thickness. After the reeds are stamped, they are individually hand
inspected. We spare no effort in assuring our customers that only
reeds of superior quality are packaged and sold.
DESIGN Careful consideration is taken with every reed
design. Variables such as engine and carburetor size, operating
characteristics of the engine and computer-aided flow analysis of the
reed block are used to determine the optimum configuration for each
reed design. Intial design protoypes are cut on a computerized,
three-axis machining center, allowing for quick and accurate designs.
Further testing and analysis is then done on our SuperFlow flow
benches and SuperFlow 901 and Dynojet 150 dynamometers. Finally, every
design is tested in the field by a variety of industry specialists to
insure that the each new design provides maximum performance and life.
GUARANTEED Every Boyesen product comes with a money back
guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with a product, return
it for a full refund.
